June arrives and the business buzz on the street is pretty darn dusty! It's kind of interesting watching the process of backhoes as the same local faces peer down into the depths of below street plumbing. Alligators everywhere comes to mind...Frankly, I for one don't want to know what's lurking down there. The northerly businesses are nervously watching the effects ripple up the block, knowing that only too soon we will be looking at holes in front of our own front windows. C.A. Paradis - We dig that sign on the side of your building. But be darned if the mighty aren't still coming up with great business/community fun. Boomerang Kids had its fifth annual National Capital Strollerthon, with 80 odd strollers doing the 5 km...could have made that an off-road race through the torn up section along Bank Street! Stepdance with the folks! The Folklore Centre has buzzed up some fun for a pre-Father's Day Warm-up, with a "Learn to Stepdance" session in the parking lot of Scotiabank with a Grand Champion Fiddler on June 8 (see ad on page 18 for details). Who's your Daddy now? Other businesses will be adding some fun, so check out signs in the store windows. Go on a Tim blitz! Tim Horton's Camp Day is June 11. Get your java fix and support the children's foundation. Coffee sale proceeds on June 11 go to help send underprivileged children to camp. |
