he OSCA Board (Old Ottawa South Community Association) is looking for feedback from residents regarding the OSCA web site.
Since September 1999, OSCA has enjoyed the excellent services of David Kennedy as the webmaster. As a result of David's work, we now have a very accessible web site where residents can find agenda and minutes of the Board, as well as information on committees, events, program information, and lastly the Essential Guide online.
In addition, as a separate endeavour by OSCAR, you will also find this newspaper online. The last addition to the web site was announced in the March issue of OSCAR through the first "Web Site News Flash". This was the launching of an interactive Notice Board where residents can post notices of meetings, lost and found, local events and services. It can also be used as a forum for the expression and exchange of ideas and concerns affecting the community.
At the present time there appears to be somewhat limited use of the web site, and in particular the Notice Board. At the last Board meeting, it was therefore decided to go to the community to find out what you, the residents, want of your community web site. Please let us know, either through a letter to the editor or, through the OSCAR online on the web site.
As Chair of the Community Relations and Special Events Committee which is responsible for the web site, I strongly believe that the OSCA web site has terrific potential for the enrichment of our community. We invite your ideas to better serve you, the community.
