ODE TO VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering is good for the soul. It gets us out of our own existence. You will share in the excitement of belonging to a group that makes the park a better, brighter place.

Benefits go far beyond park improvements. It's also about individual empowerment. The feel-good feeling created extends into other parts of your life. Some get hooked on volunteering and go on to other volunteer projects. For others, it's the awe of knowing a small team of committed people can make the world a better place. Besides, it's a great way to meet other do-er types.

For those of us motivated by guilt, here's a chance to relieve yourself of any regrets about having not yet supported this project. If the canvassers or raffle ticket sellers missed you, you can volunteer instead.

While some might argue they don't have the time, it's amazing what happens when you make the time. The important jobs still get done and it helps us prioritize what we value to be important for our families, our community and ourselves.

Whatever the case, Windsor Park urgently needs your help. To sign up, please call either Anne Marie Corbett, 730-1893 or me, Georgina Hunter, 730-0047. Also appreciated are those with paint brushes, rollers and hip-waders to lend.
