lthough school does not begin for a couple of weeks, we have begun to prepare for the new academic year. The staff is committed to providing quality programming and learning opportunities for all of our students.
As lifelong learners, many of the staff have participated in summer professional development activities such as taking additional qualification courses, marking Grade 3 Mathematics Provincial Assessments for the Education Quality Accountability Office (EQAO) and participating in workshops provided by our Board's program department.
The first day of school for kindergarten (five-year olds) to grade 6 students is Tuesday, September 5, at 9 am. Our school hours will be 9-11:45 am and 12:45-3:30 pm. Junior Kindergarten students should have received a letter in the mail indicating their staggered entry date.

St. Margaret Mary School, in partnership with its Catholic community, is committed to nurturing spiritual growth and self-esteem, continually striving for academic excellence and fostering a love of learning. Our dedicated and very supportive Catholic Advisory School Council will continue to support our successful arts program and our innovative physical education program. Working together, we will continue to engage students in curriculum experiences that have real world applications.
Our Annual Family Barbeque is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13. This event provides students and parents with the opportunity to tour the school and to meet the teachers. We are looking forward to having the Immaculata High School Jazz Band provide musical entertainment at our barbeque. Our first School Council meeting will be held on Thursday, September 21.
