his summer several noteworthy mechanical and operational improvements were made at the Firehall. Earlier this summer, the City of Ottawa replaced the old forced-air furnaces and finally installed our very own air conditioning & cooling system at the community centre.
During the last week of August the facility was closed in order to lay a new floor in the main activities room & lobby, to refinish hardwood floors and to provide otheroperational upgrades. The program coordinator, Dinos Dafniotis, came to work while the building was closed to the public in order to keep an eye on things, advise concerned parents about fall program changes and help out with Porch Sale 2000 preparations.
A more complete up-date of scheduled and other needed renovation work at the Firehall will appear in next month's OSCAR.
