ur Mother-daughter Reading Groups for girls 8-12 meet on the last Wednesday and the last Thursday of every month. If you would like to join us or if you are interested in forming a mother-daughter reading group of your own, please call 730-1082 ext 5.
We are adding a Mother-daughter reading group for girls 13-15 also, to be hosted on the third Thursday of every month. There is a fabulous array of titles to explore in this reading range and I am very much looking forward to discussion for such new titles as Willow and Twig by Jean Little and Francie by Karen English, to say nothing of our old favorites.
We are also pleased to add a Seniors reading group on the last Friday of every month, this in the hope of responding to a demographic group which we have had the pleasure of hosting for a series of talks during the International Year of the Older Adult.
Please do not hesitate to call us at 730-1082 ext 5 if you are interested in participating.
If you haven't been to the Branch for the past few months, you will not have noticed our great new easyaccess door for strollers and wheelchairs: it's one of those great devices which, with the push of a button, opens itself, rather lumberingly perhaps, but weightlessly at least from the point of view of whoever's coming in or going out.
I believe somebody somewhere is working on a model that will open with use of a magical phrase such as "Open Sesame" - unless of course I have this story confused with the one at Hogwarts Hall...
