About OSCAR

The Ottawa South Community Association Review (OSCAR) is a self-supporting community newspaper, paid for entirely by advertising. The paper is now in its 28th year. The paper serves as an information source and discussion forum for issues related to Ottawa in general, and to Old Ottawa South in particular. Most OSCAR articles are submitted by local residents.

The paper features a Community Bulletin Board that advertises selected community events free of charge. Classified Ads are also available free of charge to Old Ottawa South residents. Submissions must be made in writing to OSCAR by e-mail or submitted to the OSCAR mailbox at the Old Firehall, 260 Sunnyside.

The paper is distributed by volunteers to all homes and selected businesses in Old Ottawa South as well as selected locations beyond our neighbourhood. The OSCAR can also be mailed on a paid subscription basis to homesick ex-pats.
